Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your use of Barcode X (the “App”). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. The App

The App provides barcode and QR-code scanning, code generation, and related local record management features. You are responsible for how you use scanned or generated content and for verifying it before relying on it. The App does not guarantee that a barcode, QR code, link, product, or other content is accurate, safe, lawful, or suitable for your purpose.

2. Your Device and Local Data

Scan history, generated codes, and photos used by the App are stored on your device unless you choose to export or share them. You are responsible for keeping backups of data that is important to you. Uninstalling the App, clearing its data, or losing your device may remove locally stored data.

3. Permissions

The App needs camera access to scan codes. It may request access to photos or media when you choose to import an image, save an image, or export a result. You can deny or revoke permissions in your device settings, but related features may no longer work.

4. Sign-in and Subscription Features

Some features, including restoring subscription benefits and managing linked devices, require signing in with a Google or Apple account. You are responsible for protecting access to that account. A subscription may be used on up to three iOS and Android devices in total linked to the same account, subject to the device-management features in the App.

5. Store Subscriptions

Paid features are offered as automatically renewing subscriptions through Google Play or the App Store. The price, billing period, applicable taxes, and renewal terms displayed by the purchasing store at checkout apply to your purchase. Your subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it through the purchasing store before renewal. For App Store subscriptions, turn off automatic renewal at least 24 hours before the current period ends. The purchasing store controls payment processing, cancellation, refunds, and applicable purchase policies.

Deleting your App account or removing the App does not cancel an active subscription. Manage or cancel it through the purchasing store (Google Play or your Apple Account subscription settings).

App Store purchases are also subject to Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement.

6. Acceptable Use

You may not use the App to violate applicable law or the rights of others. You may not:

• interfere with, probe, or attempt to bypass the App’s security or subscription controls;
• use the App to distribute malware, fraud, or harmful content; or
• copy, modify, reverse engineer, or redistribute the App except where applicable law expressly permits it.

7. Changes and Availability

We may update, change, suspend, or discontinue features when reasonably necessary to maintain, improve, secure, or comply with legal requirements for the App. We may also update these Terms. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use after an update means you accept the updated Terms.

8. Disclaimers and Liability

To the extent permitted by law, the App is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits rights or liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

9. Privacy and Account Deletion

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information. If you signed in with Google or Apple, you can delete your account in the App; see the account deletion instructions for details.
